Lisa Update on January 4, 2008

Since I helped pull Lisa out of school last winter, I vowed to her, after many attempts to help her with her education, that I would no longer move or pay forher education. From now on, any effort would be her own. Outwardly, she accepted this, but I knew, that in time she would want to return to her original plan. Until then, as always, she has made the best of her present situation of living in a government-subsidized high rise in her hometown. She works at the local city tour organization, and she tutors students at the local community college. She even helped someone edit a book. She has many concerned friends at her high-rise accommodations. One person informed me that she was applying to the original university where she had wanted to become an engineer, and where she was originally treated for schizophrenia. I told her friend that I would not say anything to Lisa, and that she would have to experience natural consequences. Lisa has not said anything to me about her plans, and she has never mentioned that she was going to move any time in the immediate future. Yet, I am waiting patiently for the next chapter in the life of my daughter. With the help of the local CMH, Lisa has been more successful at functioning when she has lived locally, and where she can get all kinds of support.
