Recently, the Thursday before this one, I had a benign tongue lesion removed surgically by a competent doctor. When I woke up they had strong pain meds going through me. The doc prescribed me 40 Vicodin painkillers which is part acetomenephen, which is Tylenol, and part Hydrocodone, a opiate derived drug.

Basically it's ironic, because I was reading about how Tylenol is so dangerous to the liver in high doses, but I was in so much pain from the surgery, and I was also feeling so crappy, as usual, that I just lost count and ended up taking 22 Vicodin's 500mg each of Acetomeniphen, over less than 2 days.

So at 6:30 AM on the 14th I dumped the Vicodin pills and realized what I had done! I quickly called 911 and they were over my house in minutes.

The fire dept actually got there first, and one of the guys said I seemed wired which was a paradoxical effect that can happen...most people would have fallen asleep or literally passed out from the hydrocodone I gathered.

Anyway I went to the ER, freaking out that I was going to die...they told me that I'd be fine, but I figure that's probably what they say to everyone! I had to wait like 50 minutes before anyone saw me, but at least it was in a hospital room and not the waiting room, like as would be the case with most hospitals.

I remember asking some schmuck if I'd be ok having taken 22 Vicodin's, the ass just stared at me and said, "that's a lot of Vicodin man." I swear I wanted to punch him for stating the obvious and making it sound like obviously I would die.

To make a long story short they made me drink charcoal from a huge tube. It was a paste substance that the nurse mixed in coke. The idea was that the charcoal would absorb some of the acetomenephen.

On top of this I had to take 17 drinks every 4 hours of the most foul smelling substance called mucamist or Acetyl L Cystine, which ironically I take as one of my supplements, just in way lower doses.

So I stayed in the hospital for 3 days and got out two days ago. The docs told me that I was in no real danger but it could have been "potentially dangerous," whatever that means.

So moral of the story is always adhere to what the pill bottles tell you to take for recommended doses!
