Early Psychosis / Schizophrenia Intervention - Internet Video

Working with William McFarlane, MD (a schizophrenia researcher) and the Maine Medical Center PIER program for early psychosis treatment - we are making a number of videos available over the Internet for educational purposes. These videos are recommended viewing for all family members.

Early Intervention in Psychosis and Schizophrenia; What You and Your Family Should know.

This 32 minute video was created in 2004 and covers the common questions that families have when a person is showing early signs of psychosis or schizophrenia and they begin treatment at an early treatment center. Additionally, a young man describes the first symptoms that he experienced when he began to develop psychosis. Click on the Play arrow (in the bottom left corner, just below the video screen) to start the video below.

I have been dealing with my wifes parinoid Schizophrenia for 15 years. This video has reinforced my understanding of the disorder. However What I am searching for and having trouble finding on the internet is a way to get outpatient treatment for her.

She has been treated with Haldol and resperdol and her relapses are less frequent.

Her last episode was been over 2 years ago. We are now living in Northwest florida and I cannot find an outpatint center in this area.

It would be great if someone in the proffesional community would recongize the fact that families that deal with this problem can care for their loved ones at home with a little Clinical support.
i.e. a walk in clinic where a patient can get a monthly shoot and return home.

My wife was treated in this manor at Lakeside Alternatives in Orlando with great results.

as I mentioned earler it was been over 2 years sience her last episode, but she needs a "booster shoot" so to speak.

Can you direct me to someone in the N.W. Florida area?

If so thanks ahead on time for your help
