New Yahoo Group Formed-Schizosupport@yahoogroups.com

Hi Family, friends and loyal supporters of those with schizophrenia. I have started a new yahoo group for those who want to express their feelings, hurts, encouraging words, poetry, wisdom, insight or just share. This place will be a safe haven against the inner and outer turmoil that we sometimes feel trying to assist our family members and friends. We wsnt to encourage all of those family members who take their meds to continue. Please go to schizosupport@yahoogroups.com and join the group.

Greetings,
I was looking around for information on schizophrenia and couldn't help but be interested in your blog. My father also has schizophrenia, and I have gone through many struggles with how he chooses to live his life. He's a hermit, drug addict, and compulsive consumer who never has any money to pay his bills.
So, as you can see, I can relate to a lot of what you've already written in this stream of blogs. I struggle with my father too. Long ago I did work on letting go of my adolescent anger at a absentee father who was mentally ill, chemically dependant, and incapable of being a 'normal' father figure. It helped us forge a better relationship, however it will never be normal. Fortunately he has stayed on his ani-psychotics for some time now, but he relapses. HE's 65 now, and the severity of his 'spells' are less now than they were when he was in his 20s.
He has gone through many serious tramatic events in his life on top of struggling with Schiz., and is also disabled due to a serious workplace accident which nearly severed his body in two halves. Often I have to shake my head to appreciate his ability to survive what has been a shitty hand dealt by the universe. Thing is, this doesn't make it easier.
Anyways, I could go on and on. I was interested in the link you posted about the support group, and tried it out, but it led to a dead end. Is the site on schizophrenia dot com, it looks like a yahoo group to me.

thanks for putting yourself out here like this by the way, its good to know other people stuggle with this stuff too.

Greetings to all none so perfect being, eg: like myself!!!
Its funny how one shall live one day and how one can die the next morning! Being honest, I nearly been to the death of the road last night!!! Why! Because, well, i am not sure whether all these thoughts in my mind are real or not, somehow, i found out my old good friend's mobile number. I tried to call the number and it is the number to Taiwan.
Funny huh! Anyway, to cut the long story short for this first time of journal, I was found with Schizophrenia when i was in my high school years back to Adelaide where i was an international student there. It is hard to determine whether my schizophrenia took place at which time and where. But, to me was that it took place where i was found out myself that friends from my old high school had betrayed me. I was a high scored student but i didn't mean to be show off. I didn't show off, and all my uncle did was trying to show them to really earn a good score in their years, so that they could at least be you know like saying to their parents that i didn't come to Adelaide from HK just to play snookers at night with guys. Apparently, they thought that i was the one who framed them but it wasn't me it was one of their gangs homestay's parent.
Anyhow, after i was found out that i got this illness, i stopped studying and was returned back to malaysia. I was seeing a private doctor but it didn't help me.
Until now, i am still not sure about the days and nights i can have, because life can be such a thin line in between to live or to die.
If anyone of you whether the suffers one or the one who looks after the suffering ones, i wouldn't mind that you write to me to my email address. At least, i would be able to maybe let you realise that what it would be like in having the illness. Or how one would like to be treated by the ones' who care for them.
Thanks for reading my heart. Hope that i will come back here with better news for my health.
